I think there is. I know you can get some through your financial institution.

School loans in general are underwritten by the government to get you a low rate. After you graduate there are companies that will buy your loan and give you lower rates.

Your personal financial institution has student loans. Although they do work a bit differently than lending institutions such as Sallie Mae or Direct Loans. It is worth going to your bank and checking into them. They also offer differed payments on some of the loans to college students.

Yes they exist outside of the government and they are worth checking into but usually you will go with the governments because the rates are better although there are times when it's appropriate to get a student loan from a private organization.

Most student loans rely on govt. money

In general, even the loans that you get from private financial institutions are underwritten by the government and carry guaranteed government rates, which is a good thing, because the government rates for students are usually lower than bank rates for private lenders.

The only bad thing about participating in a government program is that you cannot discharge a government student loan through a bankruptcy.

looked into various grants

I am planning to change of career. I have looked into various grants and scholarships but because I am not a high school senior and because I already have a bachelor's degree, I don't qualify for a lot of stuff out there. Why is this? If they think I should use my degree to put myself through classes, I can't. I would have to work away from the town where my school is. I work at least 60 hours a week, and work during the time when the classes I need. So what should I do?
