Mortgage with Lousy Credit

My husband and I are trying to purchase our first home. He is being transferred for his job so we need to move in about a month. We would like to buy a house but neither of us have good credit? Can we still get a mortgage and how?

I posted something to this effect in another thread but I will add it here as well. There are things called Community Action Partners in all areas. They deal with government loans, HUD, debt consolidation etc. They are very helpful and know about many resources that the rest of us are not aware of. I would strongly suggest that you find your local agency and work with them to purchase a home. HTH

If it is a transfer sometimes the company will underwrite the loan.

Thank you both for you sound advice. I will definitely check out the Community Action Agency in my area and see what they can offer me.
