I'm seriously considering giving up TV for a while. The stupid bill keeps going up, and I'm tired of paying over $60 to watch TV when there's not much on to watch! I can put that money toward something important, like FOOD!

I used to have a change jar, too, but when my son got sick and was in the hospital, we used up all our change on bus fares and food. So, I guess it was still a savings of sorts because after all those medical bills we didnīt have enough to even eat! The jar is back now, but it is awfully low.

Most people don't save because they are too busy worrying about it and not figuring out how to accomplish it. One simple way, ifyou use a checkin account, is to always round your withdrawal up to the nearest dollar or 5 dollar amount. That way you are always leaving more in than you take out.

If you do that, how do you balance your checkbook each month? I'd get confused and really mess things up, thinking I had more of a cushion than I did or something. I guess if you took that extra out and put it into savings each month, that would alleviate that problem.

You can match the check numbers that have passed through and then you can zero out, on paper of course, your account using only the next deposit as your spending budget. If you aren't carrying over what you have saved, it stays saved. If you absolutely HAVE to know what your true balance is, call the bank and ask for the balance or use online banking, if youhave that service, to check the true amount.
