i am getting ready to open my first checking account and am trying to figure out what the best bank is for someone like me. i make about $30,000 per year and will need a checking account thats free and that will give me a debit card thats visa or mastercard. there are a lot of big banks in my area but the one that would be the most convenient for me would be tcf bank. they have an office that is on my way home from work and an atm in the gas station i stop at every morning for coffee. tcf bank seems like they have what i need but while i was doing some research i came across this page where lots of people are complaining about how bad tcf bank is:
