Emergency Funds

How much is enough to have saved in your emergency fund? I've heard variations ranging between 3 months worth to a full yeaars worth. For me that's too broad of a range. Does anyone have any input?

Dave Ramsey suggests a minimum of 6 months wages stored away in an emergency fund. I wish I could say I have that, I haven't even started with our emergency fund yet.

6 months is the number I've heard most often, also. Wish I could say I had that, but unfortuately not. Six minutes' worth, maybe

I have 3 months worth set aside for emergency funds in a money marker so that it can build interest as well.
