Using PayPal for money management

I got a lot of freelance work and get paid by Paypal. It has helped me to see exactly how much I'm making. Every time I get a balance of $300 or over, I transfer $250 to my checking account--it's a free process that takes about 3-4 days. I've started challenging myself to see how quickly I can get to the $300 mark--each time it seems to happen a little faster. It's pretty cool to see a career being born!

Congratulations on having so much freelance work coming in! I use paypal on a smaller scale to save money that I've earned from ebay sales etc. It's so much easier to save because it takes that 3-4 days to transfer...it makes me think about whether I actually need to buy an item or not. I'm all for it!

I get paid for various things using PayPal, and really like that option to transfer it to my personal checking account, instead of the other way around when I make ebay purchases. Did you know that they have a debit card that is directly linked to your PayPal account. It's really helpful since I don't have a credit card.

What a great way to use Paypal. It is also good that you are transferring money out asap. I know someone who sold and item and there was a dispute. Their account was frozen and they couldn't pay their bills because the money was all tied up in Paypal while the dispute was being dealt with!

I know what you mean. I use what I make doing freelance to fatten up my PayPal account. Then if I see that supercool action figure on Ebay, I don't sweat it. I have the $$ in PayPal.

I do the same thing when I hit about $300 in paypal. I've used it for many
years, but I still feel safer with most of it transferred to my bank account.
I don't keep $50 in there, though.. I usually keep like $8 in there to start
building again.

Is there a limit on how many Paypal business accounts one can have? I am considering setting up a separate account for my second business venture using the email address associated with it.
