Hi all, i have been trying to get a credit card now for a while but i keep getting rejected because of the fact that i am on Social Assistance. How in the world am i supposed to try and build my credit rating when i am not even given a chance??
Sounds like you are going to have to get a secured or semi-secured credit card. Be very careful if you get one of those and make sure it's one that doesn't show up on your credit report as a secured card.
Hi melizzy, thanks for replying. How can i go about getting one of those cards? I don't know anything about this kind of thing so any advice you have will be greatly appreciated.
Most of the larger, well known credit card companies offer secured cards. You could just call them or visit their websites for more information and an application. My first card was secured and I used a helpful article I found here... 10 questions before getting a secured credit card (Page 1 of 2)
