Budget Breakers?

Most people have a pet budget breaker, something that causes us to forget the things our budget tells us we can and can't do and just go wild. Mine, for instance, is books. Every time I enter a bookstore, my friends know they will have to hog-tie me to pull me out before I spend a hundred dollars.

Another big budget breaker is food, especially gourmet desserts. Of course, if I keep that up, my next big expenditure will have to be weight watchers.

So, what are your guilty spending habits?

My list of budget breakers could go on for days! I too am a sucker for books...I cure this desire by purchasing them at the thrift shop. I also can't say no to a good cup of coffee!

I am with you on the books. I cant seem to go in a bookstore without going a little crazy. Also dining out. I love to eat out. And most recently I have added cute baby clothes. I have a 6 month old and I find myself spending more on clothes for him than for myself

Good question. I don't buy too many books now, or clothes, or makeup or... well, I don't really go wild on much of anything. *Except* eating out on Saturdays when we do the grocery shopping. There's such a fabulous buffet where I get my sushi that I just can't resist. My biggest budget breaker is Christmas shopping, though... I really do go overboard.

Budget Breakers

Well, I actually have a few budget breakers! Clothes and toys for my son are a big one, but so is Pepsi. I´m a total addict and buy a bottle (little) every day. That really adds up fast! When I think about it, I get depressed, try to quit and then get super grumpy, so I end up back on it again. sigh. That one is probably the worst. Oh, and magazines.

I would say my husband and kids are my budget busters. I rarely buy anything for myself, but love to buy things for them. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things they want, and I just CAN'T get them everything.

Magazines used to be a problem for me. It stopped when I stopped having time to read much of anything. That plus I started finding so many good web sites for reading (e-zines, etc.) that I just stopped buying the paper copies.
