Taiarain had a lot of good ideas. I'm sure that there is something by where you live. You can also ask for help at a local Community Action program or Salvation Army. Check with the United Way, as well, if they haven't already been recommended.

Very true. Credit may seem a great option when in need but if you add it all up you end up paying so much more.
