Attitudes about bankruptcy

I had to take a bankruptcy in 2001 due to medical reasons and being off work without pay for a long time. During that time, I heard so many judgmental comments about bankruptcy--it really irritated me. Did the people showing such scorn really think I enjoyed not being able to pay money I owed? If I wanted to run up a big bill and then get away with not paying it, wouldn't I have charged something more entertaining than doctor and hospital bills? I wish people would just *think* before they start judging the financial circumstances of others!

I can understand what you mean Calypso. I had a lot of credit card debt as an undergrad because I had a hard time getting grants and so forth to pay for school. Now I hardly have any credit card debt, but you never know.

i can understand what you must have gone through. actually they enjoy, as they cannot get out of their problems and miseries. so poking their noses into others gives them satisfaction. this called sadist attitude. and you can not get away from them

Most of the peoples thinks that small musiness bankruptcy is the sign of teh failure.... but i think it could be the best idea to start your new journey. Bankruptcy filling is not to do yourself task so legal counsel is important.

Bankruptcy of a business is some thing different from being a bankrupt. because in the business bankruptcy, you are not blamed as bankrupt but the business is declared as bankrupt.In this situation you can start over and be extra careful in your next venture.
