Saving money
A few years ago one of my cats developed thyroid trouble. For some reason he couldn't tolerate the oral medications, so I had to have him "radiated" for a grand total of almost $2000. I hated to spend the money, but I hated even more than that to let an otherwise healthy animal and great friend die. It's been five years since I made that decision, and he remains a fine, loving, and healthy companion.
I just wonder what would have happened if I'd had health insurance then. Would they have assisted with the costs, or would it have been on their list of "common to the species--not covered" items?
